Hoppy Easter

Hello again and welcome!  I hope you enjoy your stay here.  I love to see where you are from and read your comments.  Thank you to all of you who are following me and leaving comments.  I appreciate it!

Today I have a great project for the challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's where the challenge is Bunnies or Bonnets.  I picked the cutie Polly & Butterscotch.  If you've read some of my other posts you may remember that I love bunnies.  My pet bunny is a tiny little thing.  I usually love an image with a bunny, so this was an easy choice for me.
I colored Polly with my Prismacolor pencils.  My colors were chosen by my DP which I picked with the challenge over at City Crafter in mind for this week.  They had a color inspiration photo.  (which is the same one they used at The Shabby Tea Room last week!)  I really like how the bunny turned out.  I wasn't sure what color he was going to be until I got coloring.  She sure does seem to like her bunny doesn't she?
Here's the front of my creation.  I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage where there is also the option for Cuddly Critters.  This fits doesn't it?  But wait!  This isn't just a card, although it is that!  Look:
Here you can see the card on the front when it's open.  There is a piece of acetate in the opening so you can see the yummy treats in the small box inside the sleeve!  I designed this small box to fit inside my 6x6 envelopes I get from Papertrey Ink.  They are so sturdy and perfect!  I love them!
Here you can see the small box slid part way out of the sleeve.  I was going to buy the small foil covered chocolate eggs but the small store in town didn't have any.  These work but I think if I mail this I will take out these big eggs and add the small ones.
See?

I am entering my creation in the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl's - Bunnies or Bonnets
City Crafter - Photo Inspiration
The Pixie Cottage - Sketch & Cuddly Critters
Top Tip Tuesday - Easter or Animals
Divas by Design - Stamp Something

That's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Happy Birthday, Cupcake!!

Good Morning, dear friends!  I hope the sun is shining where ever you are today.  I have a great card for you today.  Actually, what I mean to say is the card has a great image.  I used Wryn with a Cherry on Top from Tiddly Inks.  These images are so adorable.  I could easily buy all of them!  Who knows, I may end up with all of them eventually.
The lighting is horrible in my pictures today.  I'm sorry for that.  When we take a break from school I plan to work on that and learn how to edit my pictures.  Until then, they are pretty lousy.  Thanks for looking anyway.  So, on to Wryn.  She is such a cutie perched up there on that giant cupcake!  I think you can see the glitter I added to the frosting in this picture. :)  This card is for my daughter and she LOVES bling!  I colored Wryn with my Prismacolor pencils.  I also added Glossy Accents to the cherry.  It looks alarmingly in the photo like it is running.  I ran to my card to see that it is not! Phew!!  That was a scare.  It was very fresh when I took the picture so it may have been shifting, but since I layed it down it seems to be where I put it.  Thankfully!
I used a great sketch from Papertake this week.  I don't usually put my elements at an angle, I like how it looks, I'm just ... obsessed??... with everything being straight.  But I like how this looks.  Learn something new everyday!  It's funny, my main DP (from AC Moore) is pretty much covered up.  (Don't worry, you'll see it when you peek inside)  The 2 DP you can see are scraps from my stash.  They have been there forever.  So, yeah for me for using them up!!  The seam binding and flower are from Wild Orchid.  The green rhinestone swirl is from Michael's quite a few months ago.  The lace and feathers are also from my stash.
First, let me explain why there is a candle in my picture.  I always use this candle to prop up my cards while I photograph them.  And I always hide it.  But today, like I already mentioned, everything was still wet on the front and I didn't want to mess anything up.  Sticking out the side was the only dry place.  So there you go.  You know my little secret!  Now, the DP is great isn't it?  When I saw this image of Wryn I knew exactly what paper I would use (it doesn't really count as my stash I think because I only bought it less than 2 months ago.)  But, it's got cupcakes!!  And it was the inspiration for my color scheme.  The sentiment I made on my computer.
The writing panel is a bit small, but I didn't want to cover up the cupcakes.  I will write really tiny when I give this to my girl.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Tiddly Inks - Birthday
Digi Tuesday - Your Favorite Color (I used mine, not my daughter's)
Papertake - Sketch
Ribbon Carousel - Anything
Shopping Our Stash - Circles or Dots

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Mo's Chalenge #127

Hello again!  Welcome to my little place on the web.  I have a new card for you today and I'm so glad you are here.  I hope you enjoy your stay!
Today's card is for the challenge over at Mo's where they want to see bling.  I have used Teen Fairy Mia.  I have admired her for a while now and could contain myself no longer!  She had to be mine  :)
I have colored her with my Prismacolor pencils.  This time I also used some OMS.  Its been sitting on my table for months and I hadn't broken it out.  I wanted to make the wings a bit transparent and I wanted the colors to blend really well so I thought I would give it a try.  I am really happy with how it turned out.  The colors blend deliciously, no line in between.  On the skirt it blends out to nothing so well.  I'll have to try the OMS again.  However, I did go over the top of the color again with my pencils in the darker areas and didn't blend it out.  I like that too.
I added Stickles to the ruffle under her skirt.  I wasn't sure where to add the bling to this image I am so in love with.
My DP are all from K&Co.  A great stack by Susan Winget called Spring Blossom.  I must have used the companion papers for it, but I had some solids in my stash that match and I like how it looks layered on itself.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and I added Stickles to them as well.

I used the same sketch on this panel for the writing.  I used a MS corner punch for the writing panel and I like how it looks.  I didn't use the edge punch that matches because I wanted to leave enough room for writing.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Mo's Challenge Blog - Bling It On
Sketch & Stash - Sketch (papers are from my stash)

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Blessings

Happy Saturday to you!  The sun isn't out yet and it isn't as warm as the last few days, buy God is so good and I am thankful for all my blessings!  Today I have a card I made for a dear, sweet lady at our church who has been in the hospital.  I'm hoping this card will bless her.  I used a real cutie I've had for a while that I hadn't used yet, called Thank You from Saturated Canary.  Krista gave her away last year on Black Friday if you ordered from her site.  I LOVE her images so placing an order was not difficult!
Isn't she the sweetest thing?  I really do love Krista's images.  She does amazing work!  I colored this cutie with my Prismacolor pencils.  I do love using them.  I color an image and will leave it for an hour or so, come back, do a little here, a little there, leave, come back.  You get the picture.  The colors this week were inspired by the girls over at The Shabby Tea Room.  They have a great photo for inspiration this week.  The colors were a little vintage looking.  Red, robins egg blue, sage green, white.  Very cute.
The DP is MME Penny Lane.  This is a great stack.  I made my banner by hand.  It was kind of fun.  I used an alphabet stamp set from Close to My Heart that has been in my stash forever.  The buttons were also from my stash.
The inside has great DP from the same stack.  But, its kind of plain in there.  Not like my more recent cards.  I'll think the next one needs my over-the-top touches  :)

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

The Shabby Tea Room - Photo Inspiration and Add a Banner
Papertake Weekly Challenge - BINGO I used Buttons, Free and Flowers
Shopping Our Stash - Buttons & Bows
Divas by Design - Distressing

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge 107

Hello again, my Internet friends.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have a sweet card for you today for the challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's where they want us to "Think Spring".  Today is a little cooler, but we have had unseasonable spring-like weather.  My daffodils are blooming and the lilacs are budded!  This cutie little girl from Sassy Cheryl's shop is called Sassy Sally Sits in Wonder.  She is just so cute.  She's so happy just hanging out with the ladybugs  :)
I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils.  I made the sentiment on my computer.  It seemed to fit the image.
I used the sketch from the ladies over at Mojo Monday. It's hard to tell but I layered some green organza ribbon over the yellow punched paper.  I was going to add a great bow and got so busy chatting with my friend in her studio that I just glued all the flowers on and forgot the bow!!  She laughed at me!!  Oh well.  It looks fine without it but now the ribbon seems kinda pointless.  My bad!  I added a small box to the bottom of the card for a candy bar again.  I did this here last fall.  I loved how it turned out and decided to do it again.  I but my clear mailing envelopes from Papertrey Ink.  They are 1" thick and this card, even with the candy bar box, will slide into the envelope.  How fun would it be to receive this in the mail?  I have sent cards in their great envelopes before and the ladies at the post office love to see them when I bring them in!  The flowers on my card are from Wild Orchid...duh!  I don't buy them from anywhere else!
The inside shows off the pretty paper I used from K & Co. by Susan Winget called Spring Blossom.  I love the paper in this stack.  The florals are beautiful.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl's - Think Spring
Mojo Monday - Sketch
Paper Sundaes Photo Inspiration & Colors

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Best Friends Forever

Oh my!  Hello again!  What a weekend I have had!  3 cards in 3 days!  That is certainly a record for me.  One I'm sure won't be repeated for a while, but it's been fun  :)  Today's card is for the challenge at Tiddly Inks Challenge which is Best Friends Forever.  I decided to use the very cute new image, Wryn and Emmy.
I think they are the sweetest little things!  I used my Prismacolor pencils to color them in.  Don't they look so happy?  That's how my best friend Donna and I will look on Tuesday when we go out to dinner together.
The DP are from DCWV some from Nana's Nursery and some from Nana's Kitchen.  They match so well!  The flowers and vintage seam binding are from Wild Orchid.  The beads are all from my stash.

Here's a shot of the inside.  I took it at an angle so you could see that the pocket has depth.  I plan to put some Earl Grey tea bags in there for Donna since that is her favorite tea.  The narrow strip of floral paper you see on the "spine" is just to cover up the background paper.  I did the same thing on the outside but didn't get a shot of that (never fear, you aren't missing anything, it looks exactly like the inside).
I used a border off one of the DP to decorate this side.  I like how it looks  :)
I used the same sketch for the writing panel side.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Best Friends Forever
Catered Crop - Stitching

Mo's Challenge #126 - Buttons & Bows

Hello again.  Another post for me?  Wow!  Two posts in two days....I must be on a roll!  lol  Anyway, I have a card for Mo's challenge this week which is Buttons and Bows.  I used a great image called Strawberry Girl.  She is so cute.  She's enjoying the spring air I think (I know I am, the weather where I am is amazing today!)
I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils.  I picked my color scheme to go with the challenge at Truly Scrumptious this time which is lilac, lemon and cream.  And it goes well with what the ladies at Pixie Cottage want this week which is pastel colors (I think I achieved that).  I also used their great sketch.
I'm so glad that Mother's Day in the UK comes before Mother's Day in America because I now have a card ready well in advance!  YAY!!  Some challenges are looking for Spring also.  I think this image and the colors are very springy.
I added some buttons in a different sort of way.  I used seam binding from Wild Orchid for my bow.  I have a lot of tiny baby buttons in my stash.  I glued them to the ribbon, but I also threaded them on some wire cut from the flowers and stuck them in behind the flowers.  It's a little different, but I like it.  I may use them again.
The inside is a little plainer than I have been doing lately.  I felt a little uninspired I guess.  But it does look pretty good I guess.  Oh, and the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room is Spring and Dry Embossing.  It's hard to see in the picture but the lemon colored paper is embossed with flowers.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Mo's Digital Challenge Blog - Button's and Bows
Pixie Cottage - Sketch and Pastels
The Shabby Tea Room - Spring & Dry Embossing
Digital Tuesday - Think Spring
Top Tip Tuesday - Mother's
Papertake - For Girls or Mom
Creative Inspirations - Something for Mom
Truly Scrumptious - Lilac, Lemon and Cream

That's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek today!

Wearin' O' the Green

Hello again blogging friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have a cute boy card for you today that I made for Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #106 which is "Wearin' O' the Green".  I used her cutie image Noah and His Bunny Bandit.  Now, my Noah is wearin' green, it's just hard to see.  His bunny is just too big!
I colored him with my Prismacolors again.  He turned out very cute.  He just loves his bunny.  And so do I!  The challenge at City Crafter is "Things in my Heart" and my own bunny, Precious, is in my heart.  I love anything with bunnies, so when I was picking an image for this card it was an easy decision when I saw this little guy.
My DP are DCWV Nana's Kitchen.  They are so much fun!  I've had them for a year and I still like using them.  They are slightly vintage and very versatile.  Over at Shopping Our Stash the challenge is Food.  So, this being a birthday card, I added a birthday cake!!  Cooking It Up With Katie wants to see stitching, embossing and punches, stuff I use all the time so that was pretty easy for me.
I also used my punches on the inside.  On the top panel I used a large circle one to cut a curve in the green pocket.  I plan to put a gift card in there.  I also used my MS PATP to go with the theme from the front of "Dotty" which is what they chose this time over at Cupcake.  (My ribbon on the front even has dots  ;)  )
I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl - Wearin' O' the Green
City Crafter - Things in my Heart
Cooking It Up With Katie - Stitching, Embossing, Punches
Cupcake - Going Dotty
Paper Shelter - For the Boys
Totally Papercrafts - Male Cards

I guess that's about it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #105

Hello again and thanks for stopping by.  Today was a beautiful day outside.  The sun was so bright, even though the breeze was kind of chilly.  The boys asked me to put up the trampoline, so we did.  Looks like the season has begun.  For the first time ever I am really looking forward to the end of winter.  Since the accident I'm just not a fan of the cold.  And I don't like seeing snow out my window either.  If you are interested, I posted about my accident here.  Moving south doesn't sound so bad now.
Anyway, moving on, I finished a card today.  It is for Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.  She had a sketch posted for this challenge and I used Precious Callie.  She is so cute and I had a fun time coloring her.
Her little smile is so sweet.  Right now the images over there are some of my favorites which is good since Totally Papercrafts and Divas by Design want to see our Favorite Things this week.  This little girl fits in perfect.  I used my Prismacolor pencils to color her in.
The great DP are from MME called Penny Lane.  They are some of my favorite papers too.  The buttons are from my stash.

I used the same papers inside.  I also used the same sketch for the bottom panel.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Divas by Design - Favorite Things
Totally Papercrafts - Favorite Things

I think that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Someone Has an Attitude

Hello again and thanks for stopping by.  I have a card today for Mo's Challenge #125.  This week we are supposed to do something new.  I was a little stumped because I already knew what I wanted to make so I was trying to decide what the "new" could be. But I actually have several new things for me on this card. First, I made a small card for the front of my card and I used 2 Mo's images. Never done that before.  I used Helena and Henry on the outside, and
Two Conner on the inside of my front card.  He is very upset isn't he?  He wants his way!
I stitched my layers which isn't new, but I stitched the embossed layers which I've never done.
And the third new thing is the pieces of cardstock I added to the inside that will slip into each other and hold the card up nicely.  So, I guess "new" wasn't so difficult after all  :)
Here's the inside.  The DP is from my stash.  I have no idea where it came from or how long its been around.  But I used it up!

This last picture is blurry, sorry about that.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Mo's Challenge Blog - Try Something New
Papertake Weekly - Anything
Shopping Our Stash - Embossing

I guess that's about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.
